PSALM 91: GOD IS A REFUGEToday we are going to continue our discussion about God’s protection. Last week we learned that God is our Mighty Fortress, or shield, between us and evil. Psalm 91 also tells us that He is our Refuge during times of trouble. We will learn that God is very active in our lives and gives us promises when we choose to follow Him.
Read Psalm 91:9-16 (God provides spiritual shelter) and try to answer these questions: 1. What is a refuge? (Verses 9 & 10) _______________________________ 2. What happens when we make the Lord our refuge? (Verse 10) _____________________________________________ 3. Who will God command to guard us? (Verse 11) _______________________ 4. What does “you will trample the great lion and serpent” mean? That God will provide pro_ _ _ _ _ _ _ from all manner of e _ _ _ , no matter how fierce or subtle our ene _ _ _ _ may be. 5. (Verse 15) That He will ______________ 7. How is God with us during trouble? (Verse 15) By _________________________ 8. What else does God promise when we follow Him? (Verse 16) _____________________________________ The Lord is our refuge, or shelter, from evil. He promises to help us and even send His angels to guard us from harm. God is very interested in being a part of our lives and is ready to answer us when we are in need. Isn’t it awesome to know that the King of the Universe provides for us? He truly is our trustworthy Refuge. TURN TO REFUGE: 1. An earthquake (Hide under a table and pray.) 2. A temptation to do something wrong (Read the Bible and pray.) 3. A loud noise (Cover your ears and pray.) 4. A thunderstorm or tornado (Seek shelter and pray.) 5. A burglar (Hide, call 9-1-1 and pray.) Do we actively turn to God when we need refuge? We are taught even as young children to seek safety during storms and other dangerous situations, but how often do we ask God for help? Let’s remember that God is always ready to be our refuge, and we should turn to Him when we need help. |

Biblical Lesson For Sunday May 10 (Ages 7-12)
A MOTHER'S OBEDIENCEOne of the things I love about God’s Word, the Bible, is that God gives us stories to read about real people who made really good choices and as well as some real people who did not make good choices. God wants us to listen, read, and learn from these stories to become like Him. When we listen to directions and follow God’s teaching, that’s called obedience. Today, in our Scripture reading, we are going to discuss a mother who gave up everything she had to follow the directions of a godly man. Because she did this and trusted God, she was able to take care of her sons and have more than enough! During biblical times, people needed olive oil to make almost everything they ate.
Therefore, it was always important to have enough oil available for daily needs. In addition, most of the women did not have regular paying jobs to help supplement their family's income. When a poor, married woman, became a widow, it is very difficult for her to support her family.
Read 2 Kings 4:1-7 (The Widow’s Olive Oil) and try answer these questions: 1. What does the widow say will happen to her sons because she owes money? _________________________________________________ 2. What is the godly man's name who wants to help the widow and her sons? ____________________________________________________ 3. What is the only thing the widow's house? _____________________ 4. What are the widow and her sons instructed to collect? ____________________________________________________ 5. How does the woman fill all of the jars with her small jar of olive oil and still manage to keep some oil for herself? God’s perform a m _ r _ c _ e 6. How does Elisha advise the widow? ___________________________ 7. How are the widow’s sons saved from slavery? ________________ The widow's sons were probably very scared that their mother did not have the money or supplies she needed to take care of their family. So when Elisha tells the mother to send the boys out to collect jars and dump out the only thing left in their house—the important oil used for many things, it is very hard to understand why the widow would obey Elisha! The oil was the only valuable thing they had left. The widow was probably desperate to conserve the little she had. The widow’s sons trusted their mother and followed her directions. The widow obeyed God’s instructions. As a result of her obedience, He performed a miracle to provide the widow with all she needed and more! As kids, sometimes it’s hard to follow our parents’ instructions because we do not understand their purpose, or we think we know better. God’s Word tells us we should honor the teachings of our parents and remember the things our parents do and teach us. Above all, we should follow their instructions. When we do, our wisdom will grow. God sees obedience towards our parents as honoring Him, just as today’s Bible verse stated in "Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They will be a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck." Proverbs 1:8-9 TEACHINGS TO REMEMBERMothers, Grandmothers, and other female role models in our lives teach us so many important things! Sometimes we do not understand why adults teach us certain things, but it is for a purpose. God tells us that our parents’ teachings are worth remembering. Use the activity below to help you remember some of the important things you have been taught. Once you finish, try to make a card with a blank paper use your imagination to decorate for your mother or female role model and give it to her because we are celebrating Mother’s Day today.
First, list some of the things that your mom taught you. Don’t forget to sign your name! TRUST |
CONFIANZA
|
You may have never really thought about the reasons you trust your parents, teachers, or even God, but it’s important to remember our experiences and what the Bible says so we can continue to trust God even when something bad happens. For example, there was a man in the Bible named Job who lost almost everything and everyone in his life, but He didn’t forget that God was still in control. Job trusted God to continue taking care of him and God showed up in a BIG way. So, whenever it’s hard to trust God, we can remember Job’s example and remind ourselves that God is more powerful, wise, and loving than we could ever imagine. And we can rely on Him!
|
(Actividad 1) |
This next activity is to show you that there are verses in the Bible that speak to every situation we face, every fear, difficulty, problem or burden in our life. If you spend time reading and studying the Bible, you will have better understanding of what God's Word says whenever they are faced with difficult situations. God's Word may be comforting or distressing, but it is always there to guide us.
CHRISTIAN FAMILY VALUESLearning Christian beliefs and values is extremely important since it will govern how we will treat one another and be of service to others. In such trying times, it is up to the faithful to fulfill their duty and keep their Christian values alive and intact. The following Christian values will provide us with an opportunity to develop spiritually. In this way, we may reflect on the bigger questions of life and refine our moral judgement in order to make better and wiser decisions. It will allow us to experience God in a more profound way – becoming better followers of Christ.
God first is a core Christian value, which means to continuously seek God’s righteousness and rely on Him completely. As Christians, we have the freedom of choice to decide what’s right or wrong, but if we put God first, we will look to God for what is right and what is wrong. We can only value God when we acknowledge that He knows better than we do when it comes to all things concerning life and godliness. “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” — Matthew 6:33 We also need to apply in our life these other Christian family values like faith, joy, prayer, hospitality and giving. |
Biblical Lesson For Sunday April 26 (Ages 7-12)
PSALM 23Psalm 23 was written by King David as a joyful acknowledgement of what the Lord God meant to him. David was a shepherd when he was young and probably a good one. So, he knew that a good shepherd must take care of the flock by keeping them together, properly counting them, and ensuring no sheep strayed or wandered into harm. Good shepherds provide green pastures and drinking water for their sheep. David called God his Good Shepherd, because he knew God loved him and wanted to take good care of him. We can see that when we follow Jesus with all our heart, He will be our Good Shepherd, keeping us safe and sound.
Read Psalm 23:1-3 and try to answer the next questions:
David's God and our Lord Jesus Christ are the same Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd took care of David just as he is taking care of us now. Jesus is our quiet living water that restores our soul and the Good Shepherd who gives us everything we need, so we shall not be in want. Blessings will always be plentiful when we follow the Lord Jesus down paths of righteousness. In David's time, shepherds were in constant watch over their sheep because danger was all around. Sheep would make great food for wild animals, which were always nearby and on the prowl. A good shepherd was ready to protect his sheep, or grab them from danger with their rod or staff. David acknowledges how God was his Good Shepherd and Protector. David found much comfort in God's constant presence.
Read Psalm 23: 4 and fill in with letters the answers: 1. What kind of valley did the shepherd sometimes have to walk his sheep? A valley of the s _ _ _ _ _ of d_ _ _ _ 2. We may be pretty safe from wild animals, but whom do we need protection from? The d _ _ _ _ 3. David feared no evil because of God's presence. How can we have God's presence in our own life? By obeying His c _ _ _ a _ _ _ e _ _ _ and f_ _ _o _ing J_ _ _ _ Jesus is our Lord and Shepherd. He laid down his life to save us from the valley of the shadow of death. If we follow Him, we are counted as one of His sheep. The fear of sin cannot overcome us, because Jesus already laid down His own life for our sins. When we enter through the gate of Jesus, and follow in His paths, we can be sure that He will protect us from the evil one. Even when we stray, He will take His staff to grab us and bring us back to him. Now that is a great comfort! ANOINT means to apply oil, David says "You anoint my head with oil," he is describing how he was set apart to worship and praise God, and how God healed him from the pressures of the world.
Read Psalm 23:5-6 and try to answer the next questions: 1. After you eat from a table prepared with lots of good food and drink, do you feel full or empty? ______________ 2. Who prepared the table for David and where was it prepared? ____________ , in the ___________________ of _______ ________________ 3. What else did God do for David? A____________ his ___________ with _________ 4. How long can we live in God's house? ______________ Seeking only the things of this world can leave us with an empty feeling. We anxiously grab whatever looks nice, or what will make us feel good, or taste good, but we only want more and more. In the long run we still feel empty and never really satisfied. The things of this world leave us unfulfilled. However, we can be filled with the Love of God and by accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior. When we let Him be our Good Shepherd, He will fill us with many blessings until our cup overflows, forever and ever. Follow the instructions and do this activity in a separate paper. Write down the answers for the first prayer, and second write down your own prayer with your own words.

Bible Lesson For Sunday April 19 (Ages 7-12)
FOLLOWING JESUS1) We must thank God every day because He has not left us abandoned, but in His great mercy is always present in our lives.
We need to know that the celebration of Easter or Resurretion Sunday is not only one day each year, we need to remember it every day for the rest of our life and speak to others that to win heaven we need to believe in Jesus with all our heart and follow all his teachings from the Bible to have a good life here on Earth before leaving this earthly body to live with God forever. And he (Jesus) answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27) The next three activity pages and video you will see some different Bible stories and teach about how to put faith in Jesus, follow him forever in your life and speak to others about him. Knowing about Jesus’ crucifixion (death) and resurrection will help us tell others about Him! Also, because God proved the truth of His word through the resurrection of Jesus, we can trust and look forward to Jesus’ future return! (Jesus promised to return) The Bible is God’s Word and provides a lot of information about Jesus. Knowing the truth about Jesus helps us grow in faith and have a stronger ability to share our faith with others. Try to answer the next questions: 2) Read the verses from the book of Luke that indicates the next activity and fill in the blanks with the right word (follow the directions):
3) Hebrews 11:1 describes what is faith: Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Other people from the Bible also put their faith and trust in God as we can see on these stories: Abram and Sarai move (Genesis 12: 1-5) Leaving your home and going on a long journey to a place you never were before can be frightening. Yet, Abram and Sarai knew, because of their extreme faith in God, that obeying His instructions would benefit them in the end. God was able to carry out His plan because Abram and Sarai followed Him on faith. Elijah flees danger (1Kings 17: 1-6) Elijah's source of food required a lot of faith in God. Imagine depending on ravens to bring bread and meat every day. However, Elijah did exactly as God asked, going to a very specific location and waiting for God to let him know when to leave. Paul and the shipwreck (Acts 27: 20-26, 39-44) Paul was no doubt as afraid as everyone else on the ship. Still, Paul had faith in God. When the angel of the Lord told Paul he would be safe along with everyone on the ship, he believed it. Because of his faith in the Lord and His messenger, Paul convinced the others to put their faith in the Lord, and they were all brought to safety. Read these stories in the Bible for the next activity and pick the correct answer to each question: |
This video is a summary about Jesus life but it shows you that many people in that time follow him as well Jesus invites you to follow him today and each day of your life with faith.

Homework For Sunday April 12 (Ages 7-12)
EASTER: THE EMPTY TOMB
Resurrection - the act of coming back to life after being dead.
After Jesus died on the cross, Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate for His body. Joseph was one of Jesus' secret followers. He was usually afraid of the Jews, but on this day he was bold enough and strong in his love for Jesus that he volunteered to take care of his body. He and Nicodemus wrapped Him in strips of linens with spices, in accordance to Jewish burial customs. Then they placed Him in a new tomb. After this, Pilate gave an order to make the tomb secure, and to have it guarded. He was afraid the disciples would deceive the people by removing the body and claiming Jesus had been raised from the dead. This is where our story today begins and today we are remembering that day called Easter or Resurrection Sunday. Read Matthew 28:1-10 Answer these questions: 1. Who were the first people to visit the tomb? (Verse 1) 2. When did they go to visit the tomb? (Verse 1) 3. How would you react if you visited a grave of a loved one today, and found it empty? 4. Who came down from heaven and how was his appearance? (Verses 2 and 3) 5. How did the two women react? (Verse 5) 6. What happened to the guards? (Verse 4) 7. What did the angel say to the women? (Verses 5 and 6) 8. Once the women understood that Jesus was alive and they would see Him again, how did they react? (Verses 8-10) The Bible says, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!. In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you." (1 Peter 1:3-4) The resurrection of Jesus is the center of the Easter or Resurrection Sunday. Jesus bore our sins and so died on a cross, but He rose from the dead! His resurrection gives us life. We are powerless in our sin, but if we have faith in Jesus, and believe in His resurrection, we become new creations. SALVATION THROUGH JESUSWrite down in a separate paper these 6 verses completely and if you want to draw and coloring this drawing you can do it too, if not just write down the verses. These verses you will learn how you can get salvation through Jesus, Jesus is our bridge from death to life. God keeps blessing you.
